Lauren McWilliams, LMT, BCST, A.O.S.M.T.

I have been a bodyworker for 18 years; a big chunk of my training and experience has been working with structure through orthopedic/sports massage, myofascial release and precision neuromuscular therapy; another large part has been with biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST). I get excited about working with what is arising in the moment by slowing down, being present, tuning into what’s here, welcoming it and giving it space to express (physically, emotionally, verbally, energetically), thus allowing a natural unfolding within the session and welcoming changes of direction that may come up in the middle of sessions. My quality of touch is a mix of seeming opposites: specific and spacious, firm and gentle, with an underlying connection to stillness. I like to flow between BCST and deeper massage within a session. I also love offering BCST on its own, as a way to invite deep rest, to be with emotions and traumas held in the body (facilitating sensation-based expression of them), and to bring the nervous system into a more relaxed, baseline state.

I wish to empower the innate healing capabilities of all the people I do BCST/Bodywork with; I believe massage helps one to connect more with one’s intuition and signals of the body by bringing awareness to areas of tension and areas of fluidity/vitality on conscious and subconscious levels.  That awareness invokes the natural healing process of the body, and/or encourages a person to consciously take action to create healing.

I graduated with an Associate Degree of Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2006.  I also graduated from the Colorado School of Energy Studies with a certificate in Biodaynamic CranioSacral Therapy (a 2 year program), in 2013.
